If you’re having a Bonfire Night gathering or taking a dish around to a friend’s Bonfire Night party, now is the perfect time to start planning what you’re going to rustle up in the kitchen. When it comes to choosing Bonfire Night dishes there are three key rules; choose dishes that are easy to prepare, that will keep your guests warm on even the coldest night, and one which will ensure your guests keep coming back for more!

Why not give your guests something a bit different than the traditional baked potato and chilli con carne and give one of our favourite winter party dishes a try?

First up is our mouth-watering seafood paella. Fight the chill with this wonderful fish dish filled with prawns, mussels and squid rings and spicy paella rice. This dish is perfect for Bonfire Night as it can be made quickly and in large portions, and has a kick of heat from the chillis, which will be sure to keep everyone warm and coming back for seconds.

The easy to follow recipe has been created by our very own Saucy Fish chef and can be found here on The Dock!

Our next dish is a comforting winter soup full of flavour, which is guaranteed to impress your guests.
Pumpkin soups may be the traditional soup served up on Bonfire Night but we think this Smoked Haddock Chowder has the real wow factor. Not only will it keep your guests warm, it too can be made by the pan full and requires minimum effort allowing you to enjoy the celebrations too!

To ensure this dish goes down a real treat, we suggest serving with warm crusty bread rolls. If this is the Bonfire Night dish for you, then head over to The Dock to see our wonderful video recipe – just remember to multiple the ingredients accordingly!

If you’re going to be spending Bonfire Night at friend’s party, but have been asked to take along a dish, we have a wonderful recipe just for you. Our smoked haddock Scotch eggs give the traditional party snack a fishy twist and will most certainly leave guests asking who made them.
